Bug Fixes

We resolved a Player Bidding issue where player configurations using autostart failed to send bids with the correct video.playbackmethod in prebid requests. This fix ensures improved accuracy and compliance in our Player Bidding system.

Showcase has been removed from the JWP dashboard menu

Deprecation

Showcase has been removed from the JWP dashboard menu. This deprecated feature remains accessible through Apps > Showcase (legacy) for entitled customers.

Support for Showcase ends on December 31, 2023. We encourage customers to move to our new and improved Apps feature as a replacement for Showcase.

Android 4.15.1 improves stability by addressing several crashes and bugs. Addressed bugs are listed below.

Bug Fixes

• The app remains stable and crash-free when returning to it after being closed during an offline download, even under conditions of low network speed.
• In Kotinlin, getSeekRange() compiles successfully without any issues.
• Casting operations are now stable and free from crashes, even in scenarios where MediaStatus is null.

JW 8.30.1 addresses several bugs. Addressed bugs are listed below.

• Dependencies now load seamlessly when the player is embedded within a srcdoc attribute.
• The GA4 configuration value sendEnhancedEvents=true operates without causing type errors.
• Embedded DASH subtitles display fully and correctly for all streams.
• The Freewheel configuration's adManagerURL consistently loads the appropriate URL.
• The skipAdBreak functionality now reliably triggers adSkipped events as expected.

Managing tracks for your media just got easier. We've improved the workflow for creating and managing tracks from the media details page.

New Feature

From a video's media details page, click the Manage button for Caption or Chapters on the Tracks tab to create and manage tracks in a consolidated panel view.

In our latest update, we've upgraded the GoogleIMA SDK, ensuring you benefit from its most recent enhancements. The minimum iOS version supported by the iOS SDK is now iOS 14.

The GoogleIMA SDK dependency has been updated to 3.19.1 and incorporates the latest improvements.

Deprecation

The iOS SDK no longer supports iOS 12 or iOS 13.

JW 8.30.0 introduces a new event, adRequestedContentResume, and addresses styled captions on Tizen.
