JWP 8.36.2 introduces a new captions appearance feature, support for Common Media Client Data (CMCD), updates to social sharing, and several important bug fixes to enhance the user experience and functionality.

• You can now set the edge color (edgeColor) of captions through setCaptions().
• The player now supports Common Media Client Data (CMCD)
• The Twitter share menu option has been renamed to X.

Bug Fixes

• Undefined and double-lined SRT captions display with correct styling.
• When showUIWhen is set to onContent, the player correctly returns dimensions.
• HLS streams no longer impact iPadOS playback.
• Player iframe embeds load correctly.

Player v8.34.5 introduces two new UI/UX features and addresses a player behavior bug.

• New methods for converting color names and creating DOM elements have been implemented, which improve player performance.
• The player now supports localization for the following language: Chinese (Taiwan) (code: zh-tw).

Bug Fix

• Autopause and pause behaviors are now respected when the player is not viewable.

In this release, several FreeWheel and Google PPS fixes have been released.

Bug Fixes

• The FreeWheel Plugin correctly sets the mode to ad request when the stream is live.
• Mute and unmute behavior in FreeWheel ad pods is now reflected correctly.
• Google Publisher Provided Signals (PPS) values are sent and encoded properly.

JW 8.33.4 updates the ad loading screen for videos without thumbnails, migrates from the unload event, and fixes several player issues.

JWP now provides native support for Google Publisher Provided Signals.

New Feature

When Google Publisher Provided Signals* is enabled, IAB contextual segments are automatically passed through the ad tag to improve programmatic monetization.

You can enable this feature in one of several ways:

• Within a Strategy Rules ad experience
• Through player customization in your JWP dashboard
• By setting the advertising.enablePPS property in the on-page configuration
