Launch a full-screen Vertical Video experience

We’ve introduced a new display mode that lets you present a playlist of vertical videos directly in a full-screen experience on a dedicated publisher page.

New Feature

When configuring a Vertical Video experience, you can now select Full screen as the Display mode. Viewers can browse and play videos directly in the full-screen experience without first opening the playlist from a carousel or single-player presentation.

Localize vertical video discovery

Vertical video discovery labels now automatically display in English, Spanish, or French, with CSS overrides available for other languages or custom wording.

New Feature

The vertical video discovery experience automatically displays labels in English, Spanish, or French based on the page’s <html lang> attribute and the viewer’s browser language. If neither identifies a supported language, the labels default to English.

You can also use CSS custom properties to provide labels in another language or customize individual labels. These overrides apply across all display modes and replace the built-in translation for each overridden label.

Key Value Pair Management for Dynamic Strategy Rules

We've introduced a new Key value pairs (KVPs) registry that centralizes the keys used across your Strategy Rules and related workflows.

New Feature

You can now define a key once at the property level and reuse it throughout the JWX Platform wherever Strategy Rules accept a key, including:

  • Condition branches
  • Media curation
  • Advertising configurations
  • Triggers and audio experiences

This update helps standardize key usage, reduces configuration errors, and makes it easier to manage viewer targeting and personalization across your property.

Existing Strategy Rules configurations and on-page jwDataStore implementations continue to work as before and do not require any changes.

Share specific videos from Vertical Video

We’ve added a Share button setting to Vertical Video, making it easier for viewers to share specific videos with others.

New Feature

When configuring a Vertical Video experience, you can display a button that generates a shareable URL for the current video. Opening the URL begins the Vertical Video experience directly on that video.

Vertical Video Carousel Analytics Update

Analytics for vertical video carousels will change starting May 1, 2026.

Vertical video carousels are now treated as previews and are no longer counted toward user engagement. Removing this passive exposure from metrics provides a more accurate measure of engagement.

As a result, embed, play, and complete counts will decrease.

Metrics changes

The following metrics will be calculated differently, resulting in lower counts.

Player embeds

  • A single embed is recorded when the placement script loads on the page, whether it is for a vertical video carousel or single vertical video player.

Plays and completes

  • In carousel display mode, only full-screen playback is tracked.
  • In single player display mode, plays and completes are tracked in both the initial embed and full-screen.
