We have released a new page to help you monitor your live streams.

The multi-view interface allows you to track stream status, content playback, and stream details at a glance, helping you efficiently manage multiple streams.

  • Quickly identify and resolve playback or delivery issues
  • Confirm that scheduled events start as expected
  • Ensure uninterrupted live stream delivery

Learn how to monitor your live streams.

Higher Frame Rate Support for Live Streaming

Broadcast Live now supports higher frame rates for fast-paced content.

New Feature

Broadcast Live now supports higher frame rates of 50fps and 60fps. This enhancement delivers improved video quality for fast-moving content — such as sports — providing smoother, more lifelike visuals and enabling slow-motion playback without loss of clarity.

Notes:

  • To enable 50fps or 60fps, contact your account manager to increase this limit.
  • Since higher frame rates require more bandwidth, we recommend increasing your bitrate when streaming at 50fps or 60fps.
  • By default, live streaming profiles support up to 30fps.

Broadcast Live has improved support for static ingest points, DVR functionality, and Live2VOD for OTT Apps.

New Features

  • DVR can now be enabled on SSAI properties. Read more about how DVR functionality behaves on SSAI-enabled properties.
  • For OTT Apps, the publish date of the Live2VOD media can now be updated to match the event's start date once the stream has started. Broadcast Live will no longer automatically make changes to the publish date beyond the stream start.

Updates to suggested_tags API Routes & the Live to VOD Advertising Workflow

We've made an API route name update and expedited the advertising workflow with JWP’s Broadcast Live to VOD workflow with SSAI.

New Features

  • The list (GET /v2/sites/{site_id}/suggested_tags/) and create (POST /v2/sites/{site_id}/suggested_tags/) routes in the v2 Management API have been renamed to tags (List tags and Create a tag associated with a given site) to better fit their purposes as well as to better align the endpoint nomenclature with the other existing remove_tag and rename_tag routes.

This change is reflected in both the routes and their response bodies. Please take this into account for any future interactions with these routes.

  • SCTE-35 ad markers in SSAI enabled Broadcast Live streams are now extracted and saved when your live stream is converted to VOD media. Maintain these ad cue points or edit them further on the media-level.
  • The original advertising segments in your Broadcast Live stream are now automatically stripped out when the live stream is converted to VOD media. Allowing for seamless new server side ads to be scheduled in the VOD stream leveraging the same ad cue points that have been preserved.
