New Features

• Extended DVR window
  You can now configure DVR windows up to 24 hours (previously 12 hours), allowing viewers to rewind further back into a live broadcast.

• Stream cooldown period for DVR-enabled events
  Live streams with a DVR window now remain available as Instant VOD for the full duration of the DVR window after the event ends. This ensures uninterrupted playback for viewers who are behind the live edge during the transition to hosted VOD.

We’ve rebranded Bring Your Own Renditions (BYOR) to CMAF VOD, introducing an enhanced workflow with faster processing and expanded clipping capabilities for both live and VOD content.

New Features

CMAF VOD offers the following new features:

• Faster Live-to-VOD and live clipping: Convert Broadcast Live streams into CMAF VOD media with improved speed and higher-quality outputs, enabling more efficient clip creation from live content.
• VOD clipping for CMAF VOD media: You can now create new clips directly from existing CMAF VOD media items without retranscoding, preserving quality while reducing processing time.

We’ve expanded streaming custom reports with scheduling and download capabilities, making it easier to access and share your streaming analytics without manual effort.

New Features

Streaming custom reports now support downloads and automated delivery, extending their usability beyond in-platform analysis:

• Schedule report delivery to automatically generate and send reports at defined intervals, ensuring stakeholders stay up to date without manual pulls.
• Download reports to export data in CSV format for offline analysis, sharing, or integration with external tools.

We've enhanced the Broadcast Live (BCL) Live Monitoring page with real-time viewer metrics, giving users instant visibility into viewer engagement for live BCL streams. 

New Features

When BCL streams are live, the player windows in the Live Monitoring page will now display:

• Live viewer count in the player window (next to the Live button)
• Live viewer count on hover-over (below the stream ID)
• Viewer count updates automatically every 5 seconds

The viewer count is calculated from CDN delivery data (streaming traffic), not from player-side analytics events.

We’ve enhanced how you configure DVR windows to give you better control over your Broadcast Live viewing experience.

New Feature

DVR duration settings now use a dropdown that supports a wider, more precise range of values, replacing the previous three-option control. This makes it easier to tailor rewind availability to the needs of your live event without compromising performance.

This update enables you to:

• Choose from a more granular set of DVR durations
• Avoid unnecessarily long DVR windows that may affect player performance
• Extend DVR duration up to 12 hours for long-form live streams

We’ve expanded support for SCTE-35 cue types to give you greater flexibility and control when signaling ad breaks in SSAI-enabled live streams.

New Feature

Broadcast Live now supports an extended range of segmentation_type_id values for SCTE-35 time_signal() commands. These additional cue types provide more granular ad break signaling across provider and distributor insertions, giving Broadcast Live greater precision and seamless integration with SSAI workflows and downstream ad servers.

We have introduced a new security option to help you protect your Broadcast Live ingest points.

New Feature

You can now set a Secure Reliable Transport (SRT) passphrase when creating or managing live streams. This passphrase acts as a secret key that ensures only authorized source encoders can send content to your SRT ingest point.

SRT passphrases can be configured directly through the Dashboard UI or via the API.

This update enables you to:

• Set an optional SRT passphrase when creating a stream
• Add a passphrase to a scheduled stream created without one
• Edit or delete a passphrase in a scheduled stream before provisioning

By securing your SRT ingest with a passphrase, you can prevent unauthorized access and maintain greater control over your Broadcast Live setup.

Broadcast Live has expanded its accepted formats for static ingest points. 

New Features

Broadcast Live now supports RTP and RTP-FEC ingest formats, in addition to the existing SRT and RTMP formats. This update expands input protocol options when creating new ingest points.

We’ve updated the Broadcast Live UI for a cleaner, more intuitive dashboard experience. We also fixed a DVR bug to enhance your stream previews.

Creating a Broadcast Live stream is now simpler, with improved support for simulcasting and advanced settings.

Bug Fixes

When previewing a Broadcast Live stream, the DVR is now cleared to prevent viewers from scrubbing back to any content that occurred before the stream went live.

Simulcasting functionality has been added for Live Events.

New Feature

For Live Events, you can now simulcast streams to up to three RTMP destinations, such as social media platforms like Facebook or YouTube.
