Playback custom reports now provide dedicated filters for tags and custom parameters, letting you include or exclude media items based on specific tags or custom parameters.

New Feature

We’ve replaced the previous filter for tags and custom parameters with the following dedicated filters:

• Custom Param Name List Filter (Per Media)
• Custom Param Value List Filter (Per Media)
• Full Custom Param List Filter (Per Media)
• Tag List Filter (Per Media)

When applying these filters, select contains or doesn’t contain to include or exclude matching media items.

Existing reports that use the previous filter must be updated to use one of the new filters to continue working.

We’ve added a Share button setting to Vertical Video, making it easier for viewers to share specific videos with others.

New Feature

When configuring a Vertical Video experience, you can display a button that generates a shareable URL for the current video. Opening the URL begins the Vertical Video experience directly on that video.

Dashboard users can now view all motion thumbnails generated during a reupload and select one to use as the poster image.

New Feature

For reuploaded media items, dashboard users can view the motion thumbnails generated from the first 10 seconds of the uploaded video and select one to promote as the poster image.

Management API users can access this existing functionality through the List thumbnails and Update a thumbnail endpoints.

Use this new dataset to gain more insights about site daily usage.

• CSV exports and scheduled report delivery

You can now retrieve the experience_type metric in select Data Sharing datasets.

New Feature

The experience_type metric represents the end user experience shown to the user. This metric can now be included when querying data through Data Sharing for the following datasets:

• Strategy Rules Placement Daily
• Play Session Daily
• Play Session Monthly Aggregates

We’ve added new JWX Ad Server settings to the Advertising tab in Vertical Video, giving you more flexibility over which ad formats and placements are enabled.

New Feature

When JWX Ad Server is selected as the ad client, you can now choose the ad format for carousel ads and single player ads: display ads, video ads, or both.

JWX now extracts embedded Timed Text Markup Language (TTML) caption and subtitle tracks from source media.

New Feature

When you upload VOD media or perform a Live-to-VOD conversion, JWX automatically extracts embedded TTML tracks and converts them to WebVTT for delivery.

Note: TTML is supported only when embedded in source media. TTML caption files cannot be uploaded or created separately in JWX.

We’ve updated how we display product usage on the System usage page. 

New Feature

Usage now reflects the actual usage period defined in the contract. This change simplifies tracking current consumption and identifying overages for the active usage period.

Previously, when the contract period and usage period had different lengths, usage would be displayed against a scaled contract-period allowance. This made it difficult to understand current usage.

We've updated how playlists rank, recommend, and search for content, improving playlist experiences across web, OTT, and streaming workflows.

New Features

• Dynamic playlists now use CDN data for Plays and Trending rankings, making these sort types available for OTT experiences.
• Related playlists now use CDN data for the co-watching layer, improving related content suggestions in OTT apps.
• Search playlists can now search custom parameters using the use_params option. We've also improved exact matching, prefix searches, and case sensitivity.
