The Keep watching player has been updated with expanded configuration options and improved control over when prompts appear.

New Features

The following updates have been made to the Keep watching player settings:

• The Ad to content duration ratio setting has been renamed to Ad limit trigger.
• The Countdown appearance start time setting has been renamed to Timestamp trigger.
• When both triggers are enabled, the Ad limit trigger is prioritized to support monetization strategies.
• The Keep watching prompt now supports the Custom preset with the Maximized ratio type.

You can now deliver JWX-hosted VOD media and live streams through your own content delivery network (CDN), giving you direct control over how content reaches your viewers.

New Feature

Bring Your Own CDN (BYO CDN) lets you route media delivery through a CDN of your choice, rather than the default JWX CDN. 

With BYO CDN, you can:

• Configure a custom CDN hostname against your JWX property
• Support HLS and MPEG-DASH delivery for Live and VOD content

We’ve expanded creative support in the ad server with Media asset creatives and added display ad demand integrations.

New Features

• You can now upload media files directly when creating a creative using .mp4, .flv, and .mkv formats.
• Display ads are supported for Prebid, Amazon TAM, and Smart Server Bidding (SSB) creative types.
• The ad server supports TTD OpenPath (OpenPath) creative types. Contact your JWX representative for more details.

We’ve redesigned the Advertising tab in Vertical Video to make ad setup clearer, faster, and easier to manage.

New Feature

Advertising settings are now organized by ad placement, giving you more direct control over where ads appear.

The Advertising tab now includes three configurable ad types:

• Carousel ads — display ads placed between carousel videos
• Interstitial ads — ads placed between videos in full-screen
• Sidebar ads — ads shown on the right rail in full-screen desktop viewing

We’ve introduced new enhancements to DVR behavior in Broadcast Live to give you greater control over playback and improve the viewer experience:

• Extend rewind availability for long-form live events
• Ensure uninterrupted playback for viewers watching behind the live edge
• Enable a smoother transition from live playback to VOD

New Features

• Extended DVR window
  You can now configure DVR windows up to 24 hours (previously 12 hours), allowing viewers to rewind further back into a live broadcast.

• Stream cooldown period for DVR-enabled events
  Live streams with a DVR window now remain available as Instant VOD for the full duration of the DVR window after the event ends. This ensures uninterrupted playback for viewers who are behind the live edge during the transition to hosted VOD.

Use this new dataset to gain insights into server-side ad insertion (SSAI) performance over large time periods.

New Feature

You can now easily access monthly aggregates of your ad insertion data through a single dataset: Ad Insertion Monthly Aggregates.

Analytics for vertical video carousels will change starting May 1, 2026.

Vertical video carousels are now treated as previews and are no longer counted toward user engagement. Removing this passive exposure from metrics provides a more accurate measure of engagement.

As a result, embed, play, and complete counts will decrease.

Metrics changes

The following metrics will be calculated differently, resulting in lower counts.

Player embeds

• A single embed is recorded when the placement script loads on the page, whether it is for a vertical video carousel or single vertical video player.

Plays and completes

• In carousel display mode, only full-screen playback is tracked.
• In single player display mode, plays and completes are tracked in both the initial embed and full-screen.

We’ve rebranded Bring Your Own Renditions (BYOR) to CMAF VOD, introducing an enhanced workflow with faster processing and expanded clipping capabilities for both live and VOD content.

New Features

CMAF VOD offers the following new features:

• Faster Live-to-VOD and live clipping: Convert Broadcast Live streams into CMAF VOD media with improved speed and higher-quality outputs, enabling more efficient clip creation from live content.
• VOD clipping for CMAF VOD media: You can now create new clips directly from existing CMAF VOD media items without retranscoding, preserving quality while reducing processing time.

This update helps you:

• Streamline workflows using CMAF-based media
• Accelerate clip creation from live and VOD sources
• Maintain high-quality outputs without additional encoding
