JWX now extracts embedded Timed Text Markup Language (TTML) caption and subtitle tracks from source media.

New Feature

When you upload VOD media or perform a Live-to-VOD conversion, JWX automatically extracts embedded TTML tracks and converts them to WebVTT for delivery.

Note: TTML is supported only when embedded in source media. TTML caption files cannot be uploaded or created separately in JWX.

We’ve updated how we display product usage on the System usage page. 

New Feature

Usage now reflects the actual usage period defined in the contract. This change simplifies tracking current consumption and identifying overages for the active usage period.

Previously, when the contract period and usage period had different lengths, usage would be displayed against a scaled contract-period allowance. This made it difficult to understand current usage.

We've updated how playlists rank, recommend, and search for content, improving playlist experiences across web, OTT, and streaming workflows.

New Features

• Dynamic playlists now use CDN data for Plays and Trending rankings, making these sort types available for OTT experiences.
• Related playlists now use CDN data for the co-watching layer, improving related content suggestions in OTT apps.
• Search playlists can now search custom parameters using the use_params option. We've also improved exact matching, prefix searches, and case sensitivity.

We’ve added two new settings to Vertical Video, giving you more control over how viewers engage with videos in the full-screen and carousel experiences.

New Features

Vertical Video now includes the following settings:

• Related videos: Displays a section of related videos in the full-screen view to help viewers continue watching relevant content.
• Click to Play for the Carousel display mode: Adds a carousel playback option where viewers select a video before playback begins.

You can now retrieve the embed_seen metric in select Data Sharing datasets.

New Feature

The embed_seen metric represents the number of times an embed was viewable at least once during a session. This metric can now be included when querying data through Data Sharing for the following datasets:

• Strategy Rules Placement Daily
• Play Session Daily
• Play Session Monthly Aggregates

The Keep watching player has been updated with expanded configuration options and improved control over when prompts appear.

New Features

The following updates have been made to the Keep watching player settings:

• The Ad to content duration ratio setting has been renamed to Ad limit trigger.
• The Countdown appearance start time setting has been renamed to Timestamp trigger.
• When both triggers are enabled, the Ad limit trigger is prioritized to support monetization strategies.
• The Keep watching prompt now supports the Custom preset with the Maximized ratio type.

You can now deliver JWX-hosted VOD media and live streams through your own content delivery network (CDN), giving you direct control over how content reaches your viewers.

New Feature

Bring Your Own CDN (BYO CDN) lets you route media delivery through a CDN of your choice, rather than the default JWX CDN. 

With BYO CDN, you can:

• Configure a custom CDN hostname against your JWX property
• Support HLS and MPEG-DASH delivery for Live and VOD content

We’ve expanded creative support in the ad server with Media asset creatives and added display ad demand integrations.

New Features

• You can now upload media files directly when creating a creative using .mp4, .flv, and .mkv formats.
• Display ads are supported for Prebid, Amazon TAM, and Smart Server Bidding (SSB) creative types.
• The ad server supports TTD OpenPath (OpenPath) creative types. Contact your JWX representative for more details.

We’ve redesigned the Advertising tab in Vertical Video to make ad setup clearer, faster, and easier to manage.

New Feature

Advertising settings are now organized by ad placement, giving you more direct control over where ads appear.

The Advertising tab now includes three configurable ad types:

• Carousel ads — display ads placed between carousel videos
• Interstitial ads — ads placed between videos in full-screen
• Sidebar ads — ads shown on the right rail in full-screen desktop viewing
