You can now upload a source file for a CMAF VOD media item and use JWX to transcode custom audio and video renditions. Previously, the CMAF VOD workflow required you to supply pre-encoded renditions.

New Features

CMAF VOD offers the following new features:

• Source file uploads: Upload an original media file through Management API v2.
• Custom transcoding: Create individual audio and video renditions from the uploaded source file, with control over each rendition’s configuration.
• Existing delivery capabilities: Deliver transcoded renditions using CMAF packaging, HLS or DASH, with or without DRM. Transcoded media also supports geo restrictions, SSAI, clipping, and streaming analytics.

This update helps you:

• Simplify CMAF VOD ingestion by uploading a single source file
• Create custom rendition ladders without pre-encoding media externally
• Use existing CMAF VOD delivery and monetization capabilities
